This Year's theme is 'Peaks of Performance - Motorsport's Game-Changers'.............

But the same hundreds of the world's best motorsport examples will still be shoe-horned into the pit areas....... along with that rare ability to get within touching distance of these machines..... and actually experience some being piloted as they were intended.

Now for the uninitiated - first think of an event when something about the size of three Wembley football finals was staged, not in North London, but at the end of countryside roads and lanes on an Estate complete with Country Pile. Crowded? Yep, takes a bit of planning.
Also if you want to potter, picnic, and avoid many of the queues, then go there on Thursday or Friday....... not at the weekend ..... when it will be televised anyway.

Its still a great idea and a great event.

The theme for the 2017 Festival of Speed will be 'Peaks of Performance - Motorsport's Game-Changers'. Each year we find a new way of exploring the thrilling past, present and future of the automotive world. This year, we'll be celebrating racing machines that were so fast, powerful, expensive or complicated that the rules had to be changed to rein them in. These are the high-watermarks of motorsport; cars and motorcycles that left an indelible mark on the history of the sport.

Maranello has confirmed a gourgeous collection of 70 Ferraris to celebrate this year's birthday bash.

This includes a full range combining road-going and racing Ferraris, and these are chosen to nestle amongst Lord March's invites and 2017 theme.

So Ferrari will be adding about 25 single-seaters and a whole load more with cars covering all the eras from the 1940s to the present day.

Goodwood has also confirmed that the event, the theme of which focuses on the ‘high watermarks of motorsport‘, will showcase the following:
•1930s Grand Prix cars
•Group B rally cars
•Turbocharged F1 cars
•Ground effect-utilising F1 cars
